In Bird by Bird Anne was writing about a letter her uncle had written to her. She shares a part of the letter..."Sometimes you run into someone, reguardless of age or sex, whom you know absolutely to be an independently opperating part of the Whole that goes on all the time inside yourself, and the eye-motes go click.... and you recognize them" pg.98
Does anyone know the meaning of "eye-motes"??

the book was okay. i found lamott to be brutally honest. she made me never want to have kids. but if i ever do have kids there will definitely be a father. she seems a little crazy and unsure of who she is as a person.
