I think the main conflict is coming to terms with oneself - one's disabilities, one's identity, etc. (Kevin struggles with owning his disability - he insists that he will get a bionic body to replace the one he has/Max struggles with his identity; crawling out of the shadow of his father and realizing his own merit and intelligence....

What would you all say the main conflict (problem) of the story is?....maybe max's dad or their diseases,ect.?
