What I got from the book/movie was that she stayed with Mike because he was one of her demons that she had get rid of before she and Kilroy can get together.

I am considering reading the book.I became interested because I watched the Lifetime movie based on the book.It was okay,but I was totally confused about if she made a desicion between Mike and the older guy.Can anyone help?
