Anonymous posts on 9/3/2007 9:55:45 PM very good book.. shows what it was like in the 50's when there was still alot of racism around... last 40 pages were very different than the rest of the book.. but still a very good read.
ThyThyThy posts on 8/12/2007 8:08:30 PM This book was great...except for the last 40 pages or so. It went from a realistic novel into a fantasy land! The lesson: when you are in trouble, pray and pray and believe so hard in a mythical creature that it will come and save you! Don't get off you're butt. Just sit there, and BELIEVE. Not only that, but the reason for the Holocaust the author gave was that Jews weren't faithful enough. Come on! The author is obviously some sort of super Christian who just wants to cover up any doubt in God by blaiming all the bad things that happen in the world on "lack of faith". Let me tell you, Pete Hamill, the Holocaust was not due to lack of faith by the Jews, but to the lack of power and men the Jews had to try to stop the power-hungry Hitler.

Pat Scott posts on 2/28/2006 9:04:29 AM Thank you for writing this work of art. I was born in Brooklyn in 1950, Brownsville and I remember to anti-semite and the anti-black. This brought it all back. Thank you. This is your first book I have read but I'll try to read them all now.
