Kyle Marffin Message Board

Eveamlizya posts on 11/15/2005 8:32:43 PM I know that most people think that Anne Rice, L.J. Smith, and Amelia Atwater-Rhodes are the best vampiric novelists, but I think different. Kyle Marffin is one of the best writers of vampiric erotica. I have read all the Anne Rice novels and not one can touch Gothique and CARMILLA - The Return with a ten foot pole. These books express some of the more sexy sides of vampirism and of the gothic lifestyles. Marffin is also very descriptive so one can get the best image of what is happening. For example, in Gothique he wrote, "But her fists opened, her fingers started shaking, her whole body went limp when she saw the little pairs of red eyes flare in the darkness all around her. Saw those shadows bleed into the spotlight glow, but they weren't shadows now, they were figures slithering across the burgundy carpet, figures in black, pale skinned figures cloaked in leathers and lace, velvet and chiffon, painted nails clawing the floor, clawing their way towards her." With that one can easily see exactly what's going on and can get a "vibe" from every word. At least I can. I suggest Kyle Marffin to anyone wanting to read a horrific, erotic, vampire novel. One thing to keep in mind--they're not for the faint of heart. Your dearest fan forever, Kyle, Eveamlizya
