Okay... I've just finished Dzur and I'm confused. How and when did Vlad learn of his son? There's been hints of it here and there, mostly thru other characters talking to each other but never with Vlad. When Vlad asks to meet his son at the end of Dzur, it's like a slap in the face.

I was reading through Book of Taltos, and somewhere in it, one of vlad's flashbacks have him getting a lot of money for someone (can't remember who) and he says something about investing the money somewhere. Anyway, then he say "One day I was going to visit Noish-pa and met with this really cute human Ibronka. I still hadn't invested the money. Oh well." Or at least it was something like that. Now I'm confused because that was, well you get the picture if you read the viscout books. So, can someone tell me if this is just a nice referance or what?

I was just reading some of your works again and got to wondering about what you were up to. I spoke to John Gladman, in Molly Quinns, way back last year. He said you were in Las Vegas. We were remeniscing about the old Irish Well. It's gone now. There's a bloody great Menards there now. It's the biggest one of anything I have ever seen. For old times sake I should stand in the middle of it and sing a boisterous Welsh song. Anyway, just thought I'd leave a message. JD.

Vlad learns that he is the reincarnation of a founding member of the Jhereg. This founder's sister was the previous incarnation of Aleira e'Keiron. Vlad's former self was an exiled Dragon who brought together "stragglers" from all of the other tribes to form the Jhereg.
