Anne Rivers Siddons Message Board

Nancy posts on 1/4/2011 7:26:35 PM Is there a sequal to Anne Rivers Siddons Up Island. I just finished the book and cannot believe that I won't learn more about the lives of these characters!
Debbie posts on 3/26/2009 3:20:53 PM I just finished reading "Kings Oak" and it is one of the few books by any author that has made me cry. I also rediscovered my "environmentally conscious" side after reading this. She is truly in touch with the inherent dangers that modernization has opened up against nature. We are the keepers of this earth...and I believe that this point was very well made in this book.
Cindy Denton posts on 3/29/2008 4:15:42 PM I just read the House Next Door..and felt it did not end...just stopped...I love all Anne's books, and this one is old, but I just found it...so thought maybe she would write a short story about what happened to Colquitt and Walter...not fair to not know!!!!!

posts on 6/12/2006 7:49:11 PM I just finished this book and was interested in where the name Charlie Satterfield came from. It is abit unusual, and also who the "Annalee" is that the book is written for. I loved the book. Thanks for any information you can give me. Linda
valerie posts on 11/2/2005 11:24:37 AM She is the best. I have read them all.The only one I did not love was "Nora, Nora".
Nancy posts on 4/10/2005 4:05:31 PM Thought I had read and enjoyed all the Siddons books. I just found one called Islands. The descriptions of the Charleston country are just the best. I felt the same about Ann Rice's description of New Orleans. Just makes you want to be there, mosquitoes and all.
Sharon posts on 3/31/2005 12:50:41 PM Enjoyable and interesting characters. However, for someone who supposedly spends so much time in Maine, too many things are incorrect. No-see-ums are unheard of in the north, snow very rarely shows up in New Hampshire (I was raised there and in Maine)until January and there is no such thing as Darcy's yellow and red Xanax pills. Mother Hannah was a hoot and a half and Sean's death had me in tears. Happy needed a kick in the behind and forced to reside with Gretchen and Darcy needs at LEAST six doses of .5mg (peach colored) Xanax for her panic disorder! Great book though. Some of the research could have been better for those of us REALLY in the know.
Linda posts on 3/22/2005 11:07:38 AM Which one of Anne rivers giddons books is set up east and she feed swans barley. does anybody know ??
Katherine posts on 3/17/2005 11:59:26 PM Does anyone have any comments on this book. I have read that it is the best book she has written.
Katherine posts on 3/10/2005 3:27:47 PM I just got through reading Heartbreak Hotel it was a little slow in the beginning, but then I didn't want it to end. I have just started reading Siddons books I was just wandering if anyone else had any comments about her books and writing style. This is a great beach read.
