What do you mean by a "literary appreciation?" Do you mean criticism? You can find criticism in the Viking Critical edition of "Winesburg, Ohio." If you can't find a copy, the book is available through the Sherwood Anderson Literary Center Web site.

A summary of the short story "I Want to Know Why" would be useless. Please read the story, which will take 20 mins. max. It's about a boy who respects a horse trainer and becomes disillusioned.

I suggest you read the story. It is short and will take 15 minutes to read. Writing a summary would take about as long.

You may want to look at two books that you should be able to find in any major public or university library: "Sherwood Anderson" by Kim Townsend and "The Road to Winesburg" by William Sutton. Both contain the whole story of how and why Anderson wrote "Winesburg, Ohio." If you want Anderson's own words about Winesburg, read his Memoirs, which also should be available in most large libraries.
