I liked this book and kept reading avidly till I finished (it's that sort of book).
I was OK with the non-linear style of narration but after reading I had some doubts about how all the events fitted together timewise (the essential events all take place during Eve's 8th year). So I drew myself a timeline of the events and, what do you know, it all hangs together well, apart that is from the first month of her stay with her grandparents, when things seem a little too bunched together (her birthday, her influenza).
But that's a very minor quibble. If you haven't read it yet, you should.
