Georgette Heyer Message Board

Anonymous posts on 3/21/2008 11:05:56 PM I adore the scene from "Frederica" where Alverstoke is on the verge of proposing and then realizes that Frederica's mind is completely absorped in remembering the exact name of a "restorative pork jelly" to help speed along her brother's recovery. It's priceless. Also, at the end of the book when Frederica dis- covers what Alverstoke had intended at that moment. Very funny.
Barbara Paulson posts on 12/10/2006 10:07:57 PM Does anyone know where I can buy Sp/fr versions of Heyer's novels? So far I have only found Faros dtr
posts on 5/9/2006 3:13:21 PM I wish Georgette Heyer had written a follow up to Venetia. I would love to know how about their first trip into society and how they were accepted. I would also love to know where Venetia stayed before she got married - did she go back to London with Uncle Hendred or did she return to the family home with the dreadful mother-in-law. I would love to know where they went on their honeymoon and if Aubrey went with them. If Damerel continued with his orgies and gave Venetia a "splended one of her own" and if she "enjoyed it very much indeed."

posts on 5/9/2006 1:46:55 PM For many years I have enjoyed Georgette Heyer's wonderful books. They are rare to me and that I have no trouble reading them over and over. Well, actually now I do have some trouble. I have a disability which makes holding a book or turning pages impossible. I have disc Margret overed and enjoy e-books, which my voice-activated computer allows me to use. Is there any way and find these wonderful books in that venue?
Audrey posts on 2/3/2006 8:00:36 AM It would be dreadful to make these books into films. Who could play Damerel? Who could play Venetia? It would spoil all your "imaginationings" to have these characters personalised. No no no no no.
Audrey posts on 2/2/2006 4:40:22 PM So many favourite passages but I just adored when Venetia came back to Damerel at the end of Venetia. It was so romantic.
Tabby posts on 11/2/2005 7:15:26 AM Don't you people understand? Make these brilliant books into films and you'll crush the imaginative imagery behind the reason we love them so much. It would be a complete disaster!!!
Doris Clarke posts on 9/13/2005 6:41:13 PM When Kitty grabs Freddy's arm to get his attention, Ms. Heyer describes his reaction to his suspicion that Kitty MAY BE PUTTING CREASES IN HIS SUPERBLY TAILORED JACKET!!!
Diane posts on 3/21/2005 12:04:12 PM I have a sneaky idea that most her books would be great for the screen... Haven't read Cotillion yet though :) And as to where you can buy these books, apart from on the internet, I've no idea..?
Christine Tomas posts a bold assertion on 2/23/2005 9:00:17 PM I've been trying to get a hold of these in bookstores. Where did you get yours?
