Bill C. posts on 4/29/2010 3:30:17 PM An interesting NOVEL. Written as to be a true story, but so outlandish as to be impossible to believe. His exploits are unbelievable, and the plot is very predictable, especially his relationship with the "Dragon Lady"
The grandson of a true hero.. posts on 4/7/2008 7:52:40 PM Believe this story it is all true, the reason people say it didnt is because the goverment doesnt want you all to know and actully beat up my family numerous times for leaking the story.. Believe in my grandfathers story..
scylla posts on 1/19/2007 3:12:28 AM I just hope the United States government will say something about this issue; whether its true or not. Anyway, what Lawrence Gardella wrote is not really uncommon. It is in fact a general knowledge that during the 2nd world war, the United States government has sacrificed the life of a lot of innocent people.

serious posts on 12/27/2006 7:46:08 PM I found the whole story to be very fascinating. With more than 50 years passed since the described events have unfolded, hopefully something official can be exposed to confirm or disprove what Lawrence Gardella wrote about.

As far as a ploy for the family to benefit from monetary gains from this account...not true, the man wanted to clear his conscious so he could rest in peace. RIP Ric, your not forgotten
jocko posts on 11/13/2006 7:13:42 PM Knew him as a boy in allston - he lived on griggs pl. - i read his book and considered it more of an adventure story than an actual real life experience, written to raise money for his family after his death. years later, some time in the middle to late nineties i met a woman who bought a condo in dedham and she told me a very strange story. the seller, named jenny, was moving to (hopefully) get away from the constant surveillance of govt. agents. she also told the story of her husband, ricky. this lady, rita, observed over a period of time during negotiations that indeed there always seemed to be the same type of car in the same spot, just like in tv, esp. at night, with the mission of watching jenny. Amazing! jocko
