I just finished reading "I Have Lived a Thousand Years". I am a 66yr old Grandma who has buried two sons. I am giving this book to my grandchildren, in hopes they never complain about not having enough in life. What a heart tugging story that everyone should read. It would be an honor to share with Livia. Next Sunday at our local libray in Tigard, Oregon, holocaust survivors will be speaking. I am going and hope to mention Livia's books. God bless this precious woman for sharing her story.

to answer bruce major: ms. bitton-jackson lives in netanya, israel. there is an excellent address which she gave at the durham museum @ yom hashoah this year. if you go to their website and click on archived lectures, it will come up. you will also very much appreciate her other books: my bridges of hope; hello, america; and the latest one, saving what remains. i have lived a thousand years in the youth edition of her book, elli: coming of age in the holocaust.

Hi My name is Bruce and I am a 49 year old Jewish man and I just got done reading the Book I have lived a thousand years. I was so touched as I think anyone with a heart and soul would be. I was wondering if Mrs. Livia Bitton speaks anywhere in the NYC area regularly or if she allows people to meet her. Does she live in NYC still. I live in crown heights Brooklyn and would love to meet her. Warm regards Bruce

alicia, there is a wealth of information on livia bitton-jackson's life since liberation, all written by her. get these books and read them in this order: 1) my bridges of hope; 2) hello, america; and 3) saving what remains. the last book just came out in august, and it is phenomenal. all these books are written by livia bitton-jackson. also you can find a lecture given by ms. bitton-jackson just this past april at the durham museum here in the usa. it's on their website on their past lectures page. it's great, and you can bookmark it if you like. happy reading & listening! rebecca

alicia, The author's e-mail address is lbj@013.net. She posted that about a year ago, so hopefully it is still current. It's worth a try! Good Luck with your project!

I am doing a research paper on Livia Bitton-Jackson but I cannot seem to find enough information. i am in 7th grade and need to know where I can find specific information about her life after the holocaust. Where is she now, does she have children, how old are they, what are her contributions to society, what are some of her achievements??? Can anyone tell me where I can find recent information that is simple enough for a 7th grader to interpret? I also need to be able to list sources. I would appreciate it very much! Thank you!!

I chose I Have Lived a Thousand Years for my school project and think it is an amazing piece of literature and needs more publicity. Does anyone know what happened to her poems? Is there any chance they'll get published?
