I have enjoyed reading all of David's books and look forward to reading his brother's as well. I work with students in school and hope I never miss a child being abused. This has been an eye opener for me. I am amazed that these boys are not "crazy" today. I don't think I could have survived these conditions period but to be successfull and write a book to share with others is amazing.

These books were better than I thought they would be. I learned a lot about people and the way we look at what we think we are seeing. What an eye opener. Is there a third book coming out?

I don't understand. Richard works hard to get his own voice out there and took a lot of stuff because of it. Yet he still works hard to share his own voice. What exactly did david do to pave the path. What path? Richard and david are not even speaking. What has david done nothing positive thats for sure

My heart goes out to both David and Richard. It makes me so sad that after everything they went through in school and at home they are still being badgered on the internet by people who don't know them. I grew up in a dysfunctional home and many of my siblings do not speak to each other. I don't expect David, Richard and their brothers to get along like best friends considering what they went through. I commend both David and Richard for sharing their story. God bless both of you.

Mel is is not so much about what happened when they were kids, it is about how they have behaved as adults. Dave is a self made success, Richard had that path paved for him. Why should Richard get a free ride on Daves back?

It saddens me to here the negativity in this forum. I have not yet read Richards book, however have read all of David's books and become teary at the thought of the suffering he went through. Although never abused as a child, David's books have inspired me in my adult life to move forward from some traumatic experiences in my life and not hold a grudge...to move forward and know I can achieve anything. As i have read from other posts and Davids book, Richard assisted his mother in the abuse of David....C'mon people he was just a kid and look at the example that was being set for him...I believe these now men to be extremely brave and resilient, knowing i wouldn't have survived what they went through!

this was a 'great' book. so sad that "the brother's" don't talk.

I have just finished reading "A Brothers Journey" I felt sad and sickened by these events. I have came from a very good upbringing and continue to do so with my own children whom I tell every night that I love them and I couldn't imagine life without them. It is hard to comprehend how you could of stayed. What is so frightening is that kind of abuse is still happening around the world. I will continue to read these books and then I will read Davids. Richard to you. I wish you and your family well. You have obviously come a long way and to see light at the end of that horrible tunnell and come out a survivor is commendable. Take Care.

I'm reading Davids book and its so heartbreaking, i'm not even that far through and my eyes have already filled up so many times, i can't believe what he went through i honestly don'nt know how he did it, that stupid bitch of a mother should have been hung and tortured and grrrr it gets me so angry thinking about her and how she could do that to an innocent little boy of your own flesh and blood and for everyone in the "the family" to allow him to be treated like that and just stand by and watch its ridiculous how someone could watch a family mamber get battered, stabbed have poo smeared over there face and everything else poor david had to go through its just unbelievable! I think David is so brave to go through all that unbearable abuse, because i know i never could and i highly respect him and wish him a great future because i never will be able to get over this story its just facinating! xxxxxx
