Mr Rutherfurd:
You are a master of the novelated history, and after having devoured (and strongly recommneded) Sarum, Russka, London, and The Forest, I will certainly purchase Dublin.
One of your readers suggested Scotland as your next topic. I agree, but wonder if it may not be better to tackle The Vikings first, and then Scotland.
Thank you for your gift as a historian and novelist, and for your attention.

The Princes of Ireland: The Dublin Saga (hp & pb-US), Dublin: Foundation (hb-UK) and Dublin (pb-UK) are all the same book. The first part of the history of Dublin.
Now, where's the next part? And I hope he someday does both Scotland and Wales.

I am confused. I have in my hand the Rutherfurd book, Dublin:Foundation which was bought in the UK. However, in the USA we can purchase his book, The Princes of Ireland: The Dublin Saga.
Are they the same?

I have read all the authors besides Rutherford that you mention, but there is one Pargeter book I am not sure a lottle of people know about. I discovered it in a dusty old used books shop: The Heaven Tree Trilogy. It is stupendous! Also Katherine by Anya Seton. A historical novel about a true love story whose main protagonists, were thwarted by Anne Boleyn.

Must say once you read his work, you will hungrily devour the rest of his works.
Also try
Sharon Pennman & Edith Pareter & Nigel Tranter, who also write fictional history the same way.

I read with great enjoyment the Dublin book which finishes at the Reformation, and I am eagerly awaiting what I believe will be the conclusion of the story of that fascinating city.

I started with The Forest and loved it so much I went on to the others. The only one I started and did not finish was London. Just recently I finsihed the Princes of Ireland and loved it, and now I am reading Russka and I am totally absorbed! As much as I love the history of Britain and have read so much about England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales, it has been good to read about Russia. Now I want to learn about Finland. I would love Rutherford to tackle that country.
Sharon Penman is another of my favorites and have read just about everything she has written. I am not a short story person, so I have avoided those books.

When is Edward Rutherfurd's follow-up book to The Princes of Ireland, The Dublin Saga, due to be published? I know his books are massive undertakings, but I am always anxious for the next one, especially this one since it is a continuation of The Princes of Ireland.
