The "Associate" was indeed a page turner until it ran out of pages. It was like who ever wrote this book had writers block at the conclusion and just let Kyle walk out the door because he didn't know what else to do. It was a good read until it ran out of steam. It doesn't even compare to "The Firm".

****SPOILER ALERT**** THE ASSOCIATE
I believe this new book, The Associate, was indeed perhaps ghost written.
Reasons for thinking so:
*Not set in Grisham's usual places of fiction, i.e. Louisiana, Georgia, Tenn., etc. It was in fact set in downtown NYC, and Pittsburgh.
*There was no major twist, neither at the climax, nor the ending. Grisham is in fact FAMOUS for his twists.
*There were far too many loopholes in this story line, compared to real Grisham novels having few or none. These include, Kyle would have sought advice from his father, LONG before he actually did; If Bennie had so much dirt on all the people he kept bumping out of Kyle's way, why didn't he just lean on one of them for his information, as they were already in place (on the Trylon / Bartin case).
The list goes on and on folks, and this is why I do not believe this book to have been actually written by Grisham. Not saying it wasn't a page turner, it sure was, just please John, don't put your name on something, that surely wasn't yours. This book really let me down in the end.

Just finished "The Broker" fabulous book. Is there a sequel as I want to know what happens to Joel Blackman when he returns to Italy. Can't leave me hanging like this. I want to know what happens now. Please advise.

Loved the "Associate". FYI though, I found on page 138 Kyle's name on paragraph 10 instead of Baxter's. Nothing major. You just had to read the sentence again.

Please be advised that there appears to be an error on page 177 of your new book The Associate. It is not the usual grammatical error you sometimes find in books where the wrong word or incorrect tense of a word may be used. In the paragraph starting with "Brother Manny issued the questions --- " at the top of the page you appear to have mis-identified the person with whom Brother Manny is having a conversation as Kyle ( Kyle felt as though he could chat for hours --- )when I believe it should, in fact, be Baxter Tate. The book is extremely interesting but this "error" kind of jumped out at me and I had to reread it ( this paragraph and the preceding few paragraphs )several times to make sure I was not reading it and interpreting it incorrectly. I would have thought that your proof readers might have picked up on this error. I thought you might want to know about this situation even though it is after publication and not much could be done about it, if anyone else even notices it.
Best regards and keep on writing such interesting books. They are very enjoyable and entertaining.

hi all! I am an ardent fan of Grisham and i love all his books... have read most of them and seen all the movies that has been made based on the books: time to kill, the firm, the juror, the runaway jury and my favorite the pelican brief! even though most of the story contents were changed, i still liked to watch them! my latest Grisham novel was the broker! it was awesome!!! next to partner and pelican brief this was the best! about to read the king of torts! i just would like to request for more books like the firm, the partner, pelican brief from john... your books are my best friend!! :)

I hve collected all 21 of johns books and read a lot and I think he his a great writer no matter vwhat the story is and I hope he'll continue to write more books 21 isn't enough
