I am looking for a series of good books to read that are exciting and clean, Where everyone keeps their clothes on.
Victoria Holt's books have caught my attention and I was hoping for some positive feedback from others.

My favorite VH's book is "The silk vendetta", it's just so amusing. I think I can relate a bit to Noelle in "Daughter of Deceit", and my favorite "hero" would be either le Compte de la Tour (The silk vendetta), Joss Madden (The Pride of the peacock) or Jason Verringer (The time of the Hunter's moon). I love the arrogant male characters who in the end discover so much love within themselves! hehe

I will be 60 this year, and read my first VH novel as a sophmore in high school. I read every one she published under that name, and many others under her pen names. She remains my favorite author after all these years (and many books by other authors), and I'm just starting to collect and re-read them all. It's great to know there is a community out there that loves her like I do.

I don't personally identify with any of VH's heroines. That may be partly because I'm a woman of color from an entirely different culture than her characters. However, VH is without a doubt my favorite author. I've read all of the books written under the name Victoria Holt and own most of them as well. Ms. Holt is one of the reasons I became a writer. She is to me one of the best writers to ever live.

Maria, I think Remember, Remember is another title for Will You Remember Me In September (?), which is a Phillipa Carr book from The Daughters of England series. I think that's the one about Dickon's twin boys - one good, one not so good and the heroine who loves both of them. Is that right?

Those are three very good books. I loved the heroinne Pippa Ewell in "The Judas Kiss". Going undercover to discover the truth about her sister, took pluck. I also like the heroine Helana Trant in "On the Night of The Seventh Moon".

I loved the hero in The Judas Kiss - fun-loving, not too tortured. Of course I love those tortured ones too - Napier in The Shivering Sands and Connan in The Mistress of Mellyn.

To be honest, I don't see my self in many of VH's heroines. They always seem to be the perfect woman: strong confident and courageous. However, I do some of myself in Annealice (Road TO Paradise Island) and Helena Trant (On The Night Of The Seventh Moon. It's always been the heroes that interest me. If I could have any of them, It would be Milton Harrington (Road To PAradise Island). How about you guys?
