Hi Ami.I am so thrilled that you're using DW in your class. Thank you! Unfortunately I don't know of a teaching unit already devised for the book. It follows several tracks: scientific inventions of the times eg electricity,radio,transportation, the competition between Edison and Tesla on AC or DC current;historical events eg.; the onset of WW1; socialogical eg race relations, spiritualist movement,rise of industrial giants like Astor. It's so loaded with info I hope you can work with it.Maybe you can call out for some help on fb.

Hi Suzanne! I am a 7th grade teacher who will be using Distant Waves with my classes this year. We were wondering if there was any Unit that you know of that we could use to help guide us along throughout the story. The task of designing questions for each chapter with vocabulary and every thing else seems so daunting! Would be great if you knew of anything. Thanks

Marissa! Hey. Crimson Thread is one of my favorites of the books I've written partly because it relates in parts to my family's own history. I am not that familiar with the time periods of the other books in the series but I know I was inspired to move forward in history by a retelling of the beauty and the beast story by cameron dokey that's set in the french and Indian war.
Deborah. Hi! Good news! THE BAR CODE PROPHECY comes out in Nov. It's book number 3 in the bar code series. You can find it sooner on the Scholastic book clubs.

Suzanne, do you do school skype visits with students? Would love to have a skype visit with you, too, at a session I am doing at our school librarian state conference Sept. 22, 2010 to show other librarians the experience and how to use it to boost book fair interest and interests in author titles. Please consider my request. It doesn't have to be very long, just a few minutes would instill excitement in both situations. Thank you.

I have enjoyed reading many of your books, but why have you not written anymore books like the bar coed tattoo?This series has been one of the best I have ever read.I have read a lot of books but this series has address topics in such a way that I can't forget story. Thank you for introducing me to such topics.

I came across Crimson Thread while wandering in the library and I adored it! I am now addicted to the Once Upon A Time series, but Crimson Thread is still my favorite. Do any of the other Once Upon A Time authors use the more recent historical settings?

Hi, Suzzane! I first heard of Distant Waves on my way to NYC for a field trip. My friend had the book, so I started reading it. By the time we got home that night, I'd finished it! It was spectacular and I got my own copy right away. I reread it a lot, and with the recent anniversary of the Titanic, I was thinking it would make an amazing movie! I hope it gets made into one someday! I hope you'll let your fans know when it does!
