My name is Kristina and I read the book last summer and I have started to read it agian. I love your book. I have two small children and when I think life is to hard all I do is think about you. You are such an insperation to everyone who reads your book. I don't know the kind of strength it takes to do what you did. Your will to live was amazing. Thank you so much for writting your book and letting the whole world know that no matter what happens in life you can make it.

I just want to let you know that you are an angel. U were put in this world to help others and tell your story so all these young people can see that if you are willing u can get through anything, even something as horrific as you have experienced. I came to America in 1991 from Kiev and I am 27 now. After reading your story I have also realized that if you survived I too can survive anything in life! I truly admire your strenght and courage to keep going and never giving up! I'm so happy I found your book I will keep it forever and pass it down to my children and make sure all my friends read it. I say to myself when I am having a bad day, "If Alicia made it through that I can get through this, NOTHING compares to the terrible things she went through!" Thank You from the bottom of my heart I wish I could meet you!

Dear Alicia, thank you for your book. I couldn't stop reading it. today, in a Polish language church in Edinburgh Scotland (I'm Scottish, not Polish) I told everyone about what you wrote about the tears of God. Alicia I have been to Buczacz, I have walked through the Jewish cemetery. I have wept silent tears for the many who lie there, for the loss of the once-vibrant Jewish life in this lovely small town. I am going back again March. I send you my Shalom,

I love this book. I read it by choice but I want it to be a book everyone reads at my school, hopefully I can talk to an English teacher and have it put on a reading list.. i think that people at my school need to read this because I know it will touch them and help them realize that their lives aren't as bad as everyone at my school seems to think it is!

Thank you so much for sharing your profound and powerful story with the world. You are a true heroine and I will never forget your story and am deeply inspired by your strength, altruism, and will to survive. Your story made such a big impact on my life. The way you put others before yourself, your witiness and leadership skills, your intelligence, your ability to put everything into perspective. I will never forget your story. I feel everyone should read your story. The way you tell your story is so captivating, that I could not put the book down. It saddens me that humans are capable of commiting such horrific atrocities, betrayal and indifference, yet humans are also capable of sacrafice out of love and compassion. Thank you for being such a strong symbol of hope and strength for youth and adults around the world. You are a true heroine and role model to many. Love and light,

Mrs. Appleman Jurman,
You are such a courageous woman. I feel as though I would never be able to do what you had done if I were in your place. I am a Jew. I had relatives in the Holocaust, but if I were there, to see them, I do not think that I would be so brave and so willing to help people after so many did not help the Jews of the Holocaust. Thank you for all your bravery and for helping me to be a better person. Shalom.

hello!! im a big fan of alicia jurman, and im doing one of my book reports on you, and i thought you were awesome! it was sad, of course, when most of your family died in the holocaust, and i guess i feel your pain, because my uncle died, and i miss him alot...but you, you lost more than 3 members of your family, so i guess i shouldnt be complaining. anyways, i think you should make a story out of your life, i bet EVERYONE would want to see it!! of course, you dont have-to if you dont want to, its just an idea.
