Will his books be free on Kindle again? I am disappointed I missed the free download of The Screwball King Murder. I probably would have picked up one or two of the others as well.

Hi Cynthia, so glad you are enjoying the Kin Platt eBooks. Your source is correct: I checked with our publisher, Prologue Books, and was told these promotions do last for just a week, and are done to expose more potential readers to the entire list of titles available for a given author -- in this case, my father. Someday, we hope to find an eBook publisher willing to take on the Steve Forrester books, The Blue Man and the three Sinbad books.

Someone on the MobileRead forums seemed to think the book, The Screwball King Murder, would probably be free for about a week. A hopefully temporary hitch was reported on the Amazon pricing, but it is expected to get fixed. I had no trouble getting the free book from Barnes & Noble today.

I bought "The Princess Stakes Murder" not long ago and read and enjoyed it! Anyway, today I found out that "The Screwball King Murder" is available free in both the Kindle and Nook stores, for anyone wanting the ebook. It may not be free for long, so if you want to get it, I'd do it today, 6/24/2012.

I was thrilled to see some of the mysteries in e-book form in the Barnes & Noble store, I ordered one just the other night from my Andoid phone. Already downloaded. Price was very reasonable at under $4, so I was willing to take a chance, even though my only experience is with the Steve Forrester series. Would love to see those come to e-book form, my eyes are getting to old to easily read print books. Anyway, the new Kin Platt mystery is next on my reading list!

Hi Jeff, welcome to the Kin Platt Board. The copyrights for Sinbad and Me, as well as for virtually all other books by Kin Platt, are held by his family ... that is, by myself, his son, and my cousin, his favorite niece. Nobody would be happier than us if we could only find a publisher (preferably paper, but even eBook) who would bring this title to a new generation of readers. But so far, in more than eight years, there have been no takers. We are not yet interested in going the self-publishing route, but perhaps someday we might.

I've been trying to find out who has the copyrights to the Kin Platt Book, Sinbad and Me. I loved the book as a kid, and have been trying to find a copy for years now. (just can't quite justify paying over $100 for it) I can't believe there's no publisher out there that wouldn't put this unique gem of a book back in circulation. I'd gladly do the scanning and editing to prep the book for use as an E-reader myself if it meant that kids, (young and no longer young) could have this to read again. I'd pay $20 for a paperback copy or $30 for a hardback and would buy several. Please make it available again if you can... :-)

All nine of the Kin Platt mysteries (see entry below) published as eBooks by Prologue Books, a division of F&W Crime, are now available at the Kindle Store on Amazon.

Hi John, Yes,Sinbad was one of my father's best, and is a cult favorite to this day. We are hoping to republish it someday, but haven't found any interested publishers just yet. In the meantime, I have just three copies left, all precious, obviously. I wouldn't sell it you but I could LEND it to you. You just MUST promise to return it. However, I just wonder if it may be too much for a 4-year-old. It was written for, and about, teenagers. Maybe you should start your son off with one of the Big Max I Can Read books. I have some of those, too. Try finding me and contacting me on one of the big social networking sites, we can exchange email addresses and you can send me your snailmail address if you like.

Chris , When I was a kid I had a teacher that read books after lunch. One magical book that stayed with me for years was "Sinbad and me". Your dad was a wonderful writer whose stories bloomed like a flower. I have a 4 year old. I would love to read him that great tale of mystery. Could buy it on amazon but I would much rather give you the money. What can you tell me? John
