Yeah sometimes people are like that. I like Suzanne Collins AND Robert Stanek. I think both are terrific and I love reading both of their books.

What's odd is way back like when Paolini was a one book author no one made up anything bad about him. Ditto for Collins. Not sure why some authors feel they need to beat down other authors to succeed. Stanek is a great author. His work is excellent so I guess if you've written something inferior you feel the need to bash at him. Some people, go figure.

I made the mistake of purchasing a Robert Stanek book on Amazon a few years ago -- and yes it was by far the worst fantasy novel I ever read. And it is self published -- although R. Stanek tries very hard on the internet to pretend that it isn't. And all the peoople here that are defending or praising the book are not real fans, but is probably just the work of Robert Stanek.

Ricky - instead of wasting your time spamming a kids discussion, why don't you do something productive like spend time with your children - or better yet - try to write something yourself. Also - trying to scam people and ruining someone's hard work is fraud. And not very nice.

Stanek is by far the biggest scammer on Amazon. He has to be stopped.

I can't believe that this guy is still allowed to sell his books on Amazon. Surely they must have some way to detect that all of the positive reviews for his books are written by him. People should write Amazon and complain -- I sent an email last week and got a reply saying that they would look into it.

Someone gave me a Robert Stanek fantasy book and it was so BAD that I went to the internet to find out what is up with this guy. It makes sense that he is a self published scammer. The back of the book I have have rave reviews in quotes, but with no attribution (Robert Stanek just wrote them himself!).
