Agreed. Very unusual as all the author would have to do is post a comment somewhere and it would get around. Maybe the problem is with the author, not the publisher. Could be she has been translated into a rabbit for real.

I am very put off by the little to no information brought up by the book outlets (ie B&N), publishing company, and author about the series. It is like it has disappeared from the face of the earth and it is most unfair that the readers, whom obviously love the series, are left in dark.

Waldenbooks still says the book was printed, then recalled due to a error in printing. I tried contacting the author, but received no response.

Perhaps the publisher rejected the manuscript for the third book or the author failed to submit it. Strange though that there's no word as to the fate of the series.

With everything I have read, it is sounding more and more like a legal issue.

There is little contact information for the author and messages to boards or sites with which she is associated have not been answered.

Has anyone tried asking Lorna Freeman directly what is the fate of her third book?

Okay, in Penguin's FAQ section, they state: "The third book in the Lorna Freeman’s Borderlands series is no longer scheduled for publication, and no additional information is available at this time. Should you care to check back periodically, information relating to future publications by this author will be posted on our website as it becomes available." The sad thing is, it's a frequently asked question. The books is a total no-go. I'm seriously not happy.

I have research this title and book for a few days now and I am getting a run-around from both the publisher and the public relations rep for Lorna Freeman. Evidently no one seems to want to comment on whether or not this third book is going to be published and released. Does anyone else have any information? Has the book been released and where can we get it?

Is Lorna Freeman's third book SHADOWS PAST going to be part of the Roc line in 2008 or has Penguin dropped her contract?
