Are there ever going to be any more Andy Brazil books? It seems like you just get hooked on the characters and POOF, they're gone!

I thought PREDATOR was terrible. I also hated BLOWFLY. I was a real Cornwell fan (even though I would have preferred a lot less gore) until these last three books. I think the power, money et al that Lucy has acquired is way over the top and the characters have, for me, lost their credibility and also their appeal. Also, all the detailed gore was horrible, and detracted even more from the tale.

I have to say that the narrarator present tense style of this book, has made it less enjoyable to me than other Cornwell books. I have read all of her other books, and I like the way Cornwell uses narraration by Scarpetta herself in present tense- somehow taking the narrative away from Scarpetta, gives the book less of an edge, and in general, just plain bugged me! I found it harder to read, and I had more difficulty becoming absorbed into the book. Cornwell is in a class ll by herself when it comes to writing books. There are very few authors that do their homework as thoroughly as she does.

If you like Patricia Cornwell then give Kathy Reichs a try.

I have read every Patricia Cornwell book and have enjoyed them all immensely. Some more than others but I will continue to read her. If you're looking for an optional reading experience, try Gred Iles. Awesome author. He keeps you spellbound from beginning to end.

I have already read Black Notice which is the next one after Point of Origin. Can I just start with The Last Precinct then go to Blowfly, Trace and then Predator? They are the following ones after Point of Origin? Will that help figure out the Benton angle?
