Book Review By Nancy Wallace
Sara's Child by Linda Howard

Rome Matthews had given up on love and family when he buried his wife and two sons. Sarah Harper had been in love with Rome for years, even before his marriage to her best friend but she never let anyone know. Then one day Rome notices her and he realizes she is different than the other women he has been having sex with since his wife's death. After their first encounter, where Rome is surprised to find out that Sarah is still a virgin at thirty-three, he offers to marry her. The only stipulation is they can never have children, he is still too torn up over the death of his two sons.
Sarah agrees even though it hurt her to give up the chance to have children of her own. Her love for Rome is so strong that she is willing to take whatever he offers. For the most part their life together goes smoothly, and Sarah begins to believe that Rome may actually have feelings for her beyond sex. Then she accidently becomes pregnant and everything goes down hill. Will she be able to salvage her marriage?
