Book Review By Nancy Wallace
Love Beyond Reason by Sandra Brown

Katherine Adam's sister, Mary Manning, goes into labor after hearing of the death of her husband in a car accident with another woman in the car with him. Katherine is at her sister's side during the labor and when her sister realizes she is not going to live she signs a paper giving Katherine custody of baby Allison. Unfortunately the Mannings are a very powerful, wealthy family and they intend to take custody of the baby themselves. To protect the Allison from them Katherine sneaks her out of the hospital and slips away in the middle of the night.
Katherine is just becoming comfortable in her new home when Jason Manning, the brother of her sister's husband, shows up at her door. He is demanding custody and warns Katherine that if he doesn't manage to get custody of the baby it won't be long before his parents track her down too and then they will take the baby from her.
To prevent this from happening Jason manages to convince her that their best option is to get married and then adopt Allison themselves. Katherine is afraid that Jason is just like his brother, a liar and a cheater, but to protect Allison she agrees to marry him. Just as she is realizing she is in love with Jason his ex-wife shows up causing problems.
