Book Review By Nancy Wallace
Slow Heat in Heaven by Sandra Brown

Years ago Schyler Crandall left Louisiana when her sister stole the man she was in love with by claiming to be pregnant. Now Schyler must return when her adopted father is in the hospital severely ill. On her first day back Schyler runs into Cash Boudreaux. Cash was the son of a Cajun woman who had lived in a shanty on her father's property for as long as Schyler could remember. Schyler finds herself attracted to Cash and he appears to feel the same but she knows that her father would never approve.
With Cash's help Schyler goes to work to try and save the family's logging business. Someone is trying to sabotage them and they have to get the logs delivered before their bank note is called in and they lose the plantation. Her own family is unwilling to help.
Her sister, Tricia wants to sell the plantation. Tricia's husband Ken who was supposed to be handling the books for the company has been skimming money and not paying bills in order to pay off his gambling debts. Her father is too sick to help but seems to resent the help that Cash is giving Schyler.
