Bernie Minihan is a CIA field officer, involved in the Interagency Terrorism Task Force, and develops information on a potential threat on the east coast of the US. His informants tell him about two ships that are being mysteriously refitted for ocean travel to Boston, and a fellow agent is killed trying to determine how and why the repairs are being made.
The main antagonist, Amoud Fatool, is a member of the Muslim Brotherhood, and a major player in followup actions after September 11th. He controls several cells that will play key parts in making his plan of attack possible. First, several deaths occur in Istanbul. These occur in the general vicinity of one of the ships that Minihan is following. As the ship goes to sea, additional information becomes available that makes in more obvious a plot has been hatched that will affect Boston. Minihan is sent to Boston to stop Fatool. He works with an FBI agent, Richard Peabody, two senior officers of the Boston Police Department, and the Coast Guard Commander to unravel the expected chain of events; identify the cells involved, and arrest Fatool and his associates. | ||
