Alethia is the daughter of the lord of Brenn, a border city threatened by a Lithmern invasion. The Lithmern succeed in kidnapping her, but she's rescued by magic -- and in the process, she and her friends discover that the Lithmern have raised the dark magical powers of the Shadow-born, and have become controlled by them. Alethia and her friends journey through the mountains to the city of the Shee, where they gain allies in the fight against the Lithmern siege that now surrounds Brenn. With the help of the legendary magical races of Alkyra (the Shee, the Wyrds, and the Neira), Brenn breaks the siege. The alliance then turns its attention to training against the larger threat of the main Lithmern army, yet approaching. Alethia, in the meantime, has discovered and begun training her magical powers -- and both magic and military might are crucial when it comes to the final battle at Coldwell Pass, between an ancient darkness and the allied races of Alkyra. | ||
