Book Review By Nancy Wallace
Above and Beyond by Sandra Brown

Kyla Stroud had just given birth to her son when she finds out that her husband was killed in an embassy bombing in the middle east. Resolving to spend the rest of her life single Kyla moves on with her life raising her son and opening a business with her best friend. When she meets Trevor Rule by chance she feels a connection but she is determined to fight it. Trevor has other ideas and sets out to win Kyla's love for himself.
What Kyla doesn't know is that Trevor knew who Kyla was all along and had shown up specifically to meet her. He had been in the embassy with her husband and feels responsible for his death since they had switched beds the night of the bombing. Recovering in the hospital Trevor finds himself reading over and over the letters he had let Kyla's husband leave in his metal box for safe keeping. As he reads the letters from Kyla he falls farther and farther in love with her until he realizes that when he leaves the hospital he has to seek her out.
He doesn't tell her his real identity initially and as time goes on it becomes harder and harder for him to do. When Kyla finds out by accident after their marriage he fears he will lose her.
