Book Review By Nancy Wallace
Breakfast in Bed by Sandra Brown

When Sloan Fairchild's best friend asks a favor she can't refuse. So when the friend's fiance, Carter Madison, shows up at the door to her bed and breakfast she welcomes him. From the first meeting the sparks fly between Sloan and Carter even though they both know that nothing can come of it. Carter is engaged and due to be married in just over a month. While he is not in love with his fiance he feels a sense of duty to her and her sons since he had been her husband's best friend. He has come to Sloan's for peace and quiet so he can finish his book and instead he finds himself more distracted than ever.
Unable to help himself he pursues Sloan diligently. Involving her in the writing of his book, letting her read the pages as he revises them, something he has never let anyone else do, not even his fiance. When they finally give in to their attraction Sloan knows that it will only be for the time he is with her but she is willing to accept whatever time she can have with him.
When he leaves with his finished manuscript Sloan resigns herself to spending the rest of her life alone. Her best friend and her two sons need Carter more than she does.
