Book Review By Michaela
Sort of Forever by Sally Warner

Nana and Cady are best friends. It is the summer before 7th grade and they will be entering Junior High at Arroyo. That summer changed their friendship completely. Nana gets cancer and is getting worse by the day. Cady sees her everyday. It's not long until she has to be readmitted to the cancer hospital. Cady knows her friendship is going to be tough.
Then Nana says that she is going home. She insits that she wants to but Cady knows it's because the doctors can't do anymore for her. Cady will soon loose her best friend. With each day that passes Nana grows weakier, grumpier, and thinner. Cady is watching her friend die.
While all this is happening Cady also has to deal with things at school. She has to fight herself mentally and get use to the fact that Nana's not going to be there anymore. She has to survive on her own. Nana ends up dying the day after Thanksgiving. She went into coma for 2 weeks and then her breathing started going slower. Just when it seemed she'd be okay her breathing stopped. Cady misses her best friend.
