Book Review By Susan Peek
Biggie and the Meddlesome Mailman by Nancy Bell

Set in the small town of Job's Crossing in rural Texas, twelve-year-old J.R. narrates the adventures of his grandmother, Miss Biggie.

Luther Abernathy, the town mailman, has the bad habit of knowing everyone's business and broadcasting it all over town. When Miss Biggie and J.R. find Luther's body in what seems to be a simple car accident, they determine from the evidence that there has been foul play.

J.R. keeps his eyes and ears open as he goes through his day of baseball practice, running errands and accompanying Miss Biggie on her visits to friends and neighbors. J.R.'s observations help Miss Biggie solve the mystery and deal with a local militia club.
