The Heartbreaker by Nicole Jordan

At the beginning of the story, Heather accepts an offer of marriage from her best friends brother-in-law Sloan. Sloan is grieving from the tragic murder of his first wife Doe, and is trying to raise their baby daughter and run his ranch at the same time. When Sloan first sees Heather he is astonished at how elegant and beautiful she is. Sloan determines that Heather is unfit for ranch life, but Heather, needing to pay her father gambling debts has no choice but to marry Sloan. Their marriage is very rocky for the first few months. Sloan has to come to terms with his wife's death and his growing love for Heather. After much anger and heartache, Heather and Sloan realize their love for each other.
