Book Review By Michele Knight
The Guardian by Nicholas Sparks

Julie's husband died and left her a puppy she named Singer. The story is set four years later, at a point in her life when she is ready to begin dating again. She is torn between one man, Richard Franklin, who treats her like a queen and her husband's best friend, Mike Harris. Soon, however, she is caught up in one man's obsession with her. She must fight not only for her own life, but that of the man she loves and her beloved dog, Singer.

Her dog is a very important character in this story. Singer is Julie's best friend and a very good judge of character. This dog will protect her at all costs. It's abilities and relationship with Julie are amazing yet believable. Her relationship with her husband was similar and he left her this dog with the promise that he would always watch over her.
