Tending Roses by Lisa Wingate

Grandma is slowly going downhill and after leaving the iron on and setting fire in the house the family has decided to put her in a nursing home. Kate and her husband are 'chosen by the family' to be the ones to watch over Grandma until everyone can get there for Christmas and arrangements can be made.

Kate is on maternity leave and her husband Ben can work from the farm house. As Kate gets to know her Grandmother all over again in the 3 weeks she is there, she realizes it will break her heart if she has to leave and Kate too sees what joy she can find in being home with her child in the sleepy little town away from all the hustle and bustle of what her life used to be like.   More and more she is determined to keep Grandma at the farm but must convince the rest of her family. Kate learns from her Grandmother the importance of family through her stories and the wildflower journal that always shows up with a wonderful story that has a moral to it right when Kate needs it most. The family agrees to hire a live in for Grandma Rose and this makes Kate happy although more and more she doesn't want to leave and sees herself staying although she hasn't discussed these thoughts with her husband. How will he feel about her thoughts?
