Book Review By Max Talbert
Watchers by Dean Koontz

Travis Cornell, a depressed young man, is planning to end his life in the wilderness. On his way to his favorite spot, he encounters a beautiful golden retriever with astonishing intelligence. Travis takes the dog home and discovers that he can communicate with the dog. Things start to look up for Travis and with the help of the dog, who he dubs Einstein, Travis regains his desire to live and helps a young woman named Nora Devon escape a brutal relationship.
But things aren't so simple. Soon, Nora, Travis and Einstein find themselves the target of a cold-blooded hit man named Vince, who is as relentless as he is deadly. Also pursuing them is “The Outsider,” a genetically altered killer possessing monstrous strength and an inhuman rage who wants to destroy Einstein.
One mystery leads to another as Travis and Nora find out about Einstein and “The Outsider.” Both the dog and the monster were created in a scientific government lab for war purposes. The cute doggie was supposed to wag his fluffy tail and infiltrate enemy camps, thus paving the way for “The Outsider” to slip in and annihilate everyone in sight. Both escape the lab and “The Outsider” is bent on killing Einstein.
