This story dives into the importance of friendship and the intense love between four girls, Judy, Maxine, Kate, and Pagan during the 1940's who all attend a Swiss boarding school together. Graduation quickly approaching and one of them finds out she is pregnant. What will she do? She turns to her friends and the four of them manage to keep the identity of the real mother impossible to find. But then the four of them were approached by a daughter whom they had put up for foster care until they could come back for her, and later told had been killed.
