Miracle on the 17th Green by James Patterson

When Ted McKinley goes out to play golf on Christmas something miraculous happens on the 17th green when he plays the most amazing golf he has ever played. After he gets home late for Christmas dinner his wife of 30 years is about at the end of her rope. His great game continues and after being fired from a job, as an ad executive, which he has hated for 23 years he decides to try out for the Senior PGA tour. He manages to make it into the top 8 and gets to play on the tour for one year. Along the way he has his ups and downs and enlists a great caddie to help him out. He learns more than just about his golf game when he looks at his marriage and life along the way too.
