Book Review By Rachael High
This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen

Remy had a famous song written for her by her father, who she never knew. Her mother is a romance novelist who is going on her fifth marriage. After all of the disappointment from her parents, she has taught herself to avoid love at all costs.

Remy and three of her best friends deal with their own guy problems as they come, but Remy is constantly annoyed by a boy named Dexter who won't leave her alone. Despite her resolve not to, she becomes involved with him and finds herself slowly moving towards love.

Her brother becomes engaged to his girfriend, and Remy and her mother discover that husband number five has been cheating. Remy and Dexter broke up because Dexter didn't want to just be a summer fling. Remy is unusually upsest by the break up, even though its just one of hundreds. She decides to give it another chance, and when she goes to Stanford in the fall Dexter and his band, with a new record deal, come to visit her.
