| Prudence Merryweather meets Sebastian, Earl of Angelstone because of her brother and soon finds herself in his debt. They both have many common interest especially in investigations although Prudence investigates something not so normal giving her the name The Original among the ton. While trying to repay his debt Prudence gets engaged in what she belives is a sham engagement. But Sebastian wants her and tries every chance he gets at seducing her into becomeing his wife.
