Miss Jean Brodie is a teacher at the Marcia Blaine School for Girls in Edinburgh. She is a teacher with unorthodox teaching methods. In 1930 she takes a group of students under her wing who become known as the Brodie girls. She proceeds to make the girls the “crème de la crème”. Miss Brodie opens the world to her students and teaches them more than the approved curriculum.
In 1936 Miss Brodie's methods are once again being questioned and she must defend herself. The headmistress of the school keeps questioning Brodie's girls in hopes of learning something that can be used against Miss Brodie. Rumors fly concerning Miss Brodie's relationship with male teachers and the headmistress is determined to discover a moral reason to dismiss Miss Brodie. Each of the Brodie kiddies ponders the identity of who betrayed Miss Brodie and also reflects on the influence that Miss Brodie has on their individual lives. | ||
