Book Review By Nancy Wallace
Cowboy Groom by Judy Christenberry

Brett Randall returns to the family ranch from Washington DC with exciting news for his family. It is late when he arrives and everyone is asleep so he is surprised when he sees a strange car coming up the driveway. When the driver of the car enters the house Brett grabs them, thinking they are a burglar. Much to his embarassment he is quickly overpowered and pinned to the floor as the rest of his family comes rushing into the kitchen to see what the noise is. There they find Brett pinned down by Anna O'Brien.
Anna is the midwife hired by the family to help Brett's sister-in-law Janie through her pregnancy with twins and she had been returning from a late night delivery. Now that the whole family is up Brett decides to go ahead and tell them his news. He's engaged, to Sylvia Sanders, the daughter of a U.S. senator.
His sisters-in-law instantly decide that Anna would be a much better match for Brett and set out to prove it to him by suggesting he invite Slyvia down for a visit. They know that once she sees the ranch and realizes that Brett intends for them to live there after they are married she won't be so eager to marry him. And when that happens Anna will be waiting in the wings to comfort him.
