| Years ago Sean Devaney and his brothers had been abandoned by their parents and then separated by the system. He didn't believe in love and was content living by himself until his job as a firefighter introduced him to Deanna Blackewll and her son Kevin.
Deanna was a single mother struggling to make a life for her and her son when her apartment was destroyed in a fire. Kevin instantly becomes attached to Sean and Deanna finds herself dragged along. She has been burned once by a man and isn't sure she wants to become involved with another, particularly one who isn't interested in forever. Regardless of his fear of commitment Sean is drawn to Deanna and begins finding reasons to see her, like taking the whole fire crew to the restaurant where she works for their lunch.
