When Saint Morris heard Juliana (Jules) was captured by Jameson Wilkes and to be sold at a slave auction, he charged to the rescue. He had been her best friend since 6 years ago before he left Maui. Now, Jules was all grown up and beautiful but she shouldn't have to fend off his sexual urges after suffering Wilkes's attention. To protect her from himself, he returned her to her parents. In spite of his goodwill, returning Jules home only added to her heartache. Her spiteful sister, Sarah had stolen her admirer, John and spread wild rumours about her innocence. Her parents treated her as an outcast and a family shame. Jules being attack by John was the last straw for Saint. The only available option was marriage.

Jules, wilful and tender-hearted thought marrying Michael (Saint's real name), the man of her dreams would be the perfect beginning to a happy future. She was wrong. Previously secluded in Maui, everything was new and different in the big, crowded city. Michael was previously seeing a widow, Jane (whom he called out in a wet-dream after downing in whiskey and pent-up desire for his young wife). Michael had initially married her for pity. But she did not want his sympathy, she needed his love. Also, Wilkes, obsessed with Jules was haunting and hunting her down.

Saint was desperate not to consummate what he presumed a marriage-of-convenience but Jules was so desirable and he felt like a randy teenager around her. But a platonic marriage was not to be, not when desire leapt like flames between them. Del and Chauncey, Brent and Byrony (from Midnight and Wild Star respectively) were also there to witness the whirlpool of their marriage.
