Book Review By Rsegovia
The Rowan - Damia Series 1 by Anne McCaffrey

The Rowan loses her family in an accident when she's a small child, which awakens her amazingly strong telepathic and telekinetic powers. She is raised in the Tower by a group of telepaths, and eventually becomes a Prime--a strong telekinetic who can use electricity to instantaneously transport heavy loads across the galaxy.

She has some trouble going into space, because one of her teachers was afraid of it, but she overcomes this and learns to transport herself over immense distances. She mentally encounters a distant alien presence, which pretends to be in love with her. Escaping this threat, she makes mental contact and falls in love with another Prime, Jeff Raven. She is the leader of the telepathic crew in her own Tower on a distant planet. Settings include Callisto, Earth, and Alpha Centauri.
