Book Review By Susannah Spurr
My Wicked Fantasy by Karen Ranney

Mary Kate Bennett was married too early and widowed too young. She was left to fend for herself by her husband without money. Her path crosses Archer St. John -- Earl of Sanderhurst in a terrible carriage accident, where she gets hurt but lucky to be alive. Whispers about Archer follows him wherever he goes that he might have murdered his unhappy countess. She wakes up and had dreams of someone else's memories -- possibly Alice, Archer's wife, who might be dead and haunting Mary. Archer thinks she's in a scheme with his missing wife but she tries to convince him that she has never met/know his wife and thinks that Alice is dead and he's in danger. Slowly as Archer rejects her protests, things between them become passionate and an attraction grows.

His eccentric mother, Bernie, comes home to help him in finding Alice and meets Mary, which Bernie believes Mary, when she says that Alice is haunting her. In London, Bernie and Mary tries to figure out where Alice could be. Then Archer discovers that Mary's dead husband, Edwin Bennett, was his solicitor and thinks again of Mary's involvement with Alice. She protests that she never knew Alice and asks him if he killed Alice. After his behavior to the question, she realizes that he couldn't have killed his wife. Bernie and Mary go to Alice's parental home and Mary feels something from Alice about James Moreham, even though he is Alice's brother -- he isn't related at all to Alice. James who loves Alice, not brotherly love, feels -similar to Mary - that Alice is dead but thinks Archer killed her because she was carried James's child.
