Kale Allerion is a slave who discovers she has a power to be drawn to dragon eggs. She lives on a planet that is like Earth, with mountains, forests, fields, and swamps. After finding her first dragon egg, she is sent to the city to learn more and become a servant to King Paladin. But before she can get there, she finds another dragon egg and is sent on a quest to recover a very valuable dragon egg from the evil Wizard Risto.
Along the way, she meets many different people of different races/species ranging from eccentric to serious. She also meets up with Wizard Fenworth, a friendly wizard who, along with his librarian Librettowit, help her find Risto. She makes friends with Dar, an eccentric being, and Leetu Bends, a serious being who learns to lighten up. They travel through forests, fields, and underground to find Risto, and eventually come to a dangerous encounter with him. Early in the book, Kale's dragon egg hatches, and a healing dragon emerges. In the middle, she finds a dragon that she and her dragon heal, and at the end, another dragon hatches that sings magical melodies. | ||
