Jackson Rule has just been released from years in prison for murder. He is planning to find a nice quiet uncomplicated job, and lead a nice, quiet, uncomplicated life. He helps a young lady, a pious preacher's daughter, who is having trouble with her car. She ends up hiring him to help in her landscaping business, even though he honestly tells her he was just released from prison. She finds him interesting, capable, and worthy of a second chance. Her father, the preacher, is appalled, and cautions her about hiring and working with Jackson. Jackson has some issues to work through, has a kind heart which she judges well once she learns a bit more about him, and a lot of misery to contend with from his past. The preacher comes to realize making snap judgements is not a fair way to judge a person, and finds himself re-evaluating his first impressions of Jackson. | ||
