A group of high school put on a version of Cinderella, it is the final dress rehearsal, many things go wrong and they open the next day. The director is stressed, the stage manager seems fine and not stressed at all, the stagehands are definetly not the brightest crayons in the box, the prompter wants a part so badly she is willing to be the prince, the ultility girl has way too many jobs, the cast is embarressed to be doing Cinderella and haven't learned their lines, and to top all of this off they have the authoress of the play there to watch them preform her "brain child" and keeps finding things wrong with how they are putting on the show.
