The main character West Owens, is down on his luck and serving jury duty and hates it. He meets a young lady also on jury duty and when he finds out his car has been stolen from the parking lot while he's serving jury duty--he becomes upset..and she talks him into scamming the jury to vote not guilty on the trail they are sitting on----so that they can go into a deal with the defendent to get a bunch of money.
