         Caroline Quiner has been a pioneer girl all her life, and whenever she possibly could, she went to school. Now that she has graduated out of school, she gets to be a teacher!
          At first she teaches summer school, and it wasn't very hard. The only people that she tought were girls and younger boys. she has a little bit of trouble, but she fixes that. she also meets a young boy named John Friday who needs help, and Caroline is the one who will help him.
          Then Caroline starts courting Charles Ingalls, and they begin to get serious. But if Caroline gets married she will have to give up teaching. What shall she do?
